چکیده

Antioxidant effect of Herbal product and Synthetic Methionine was evaluated in broilers. Six groups containing 12 birds in each group. Group I served as control fed with basal diet deficient with methionine. Group II served as toxic control fed with cadmium chloride at 100 ppm. Group III and IV served as positive control fed with Methiorep® at 1.4 g/kg diet and synthetic methionine at 1.2 g/kg diet respectively. Group V and VI fed with cadmium chloride at 100 ppm upto 4 week for inducing oxidative stress, followed by Methiorep® at 1.4 g/kg diet and synthetic methionine at 1.2 g/kg diet respectively for next 2 week. Cadmium fed groups showed significantly increased level in biochemical parameters and oxidative stress marker, Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and antioxidant enzyme i.e superoxide dismutase level and significantly decreased level in glutathione and performance parameters indicating cadmium induced oxidative damage on several organs. Histopathology of cadmium fed groups revealed the toxic effect of cadmium on liver, kidney and spleen. Supplementation of the herbal product and synthetic methionine showed improvement in all the above discussed parameters.

Bioavailability comparison between herbal methionine and DL-methionine on growth performance and immunocompetence basis in broiler chickens

BACKGROUND:Herbal methionine can be compared relative toDl-methionine with evaluation of bioavailability of this source ofmethionine. OBJECTIVES: An experiment was carried out todetermine the relative bioefficacy of herbal methionine (H-Met)®relative to DL-methionine (DL-Met) on performance criteria andimmunocompetence of Met sources in male broilers. Atotal of 160male broilers were fed a Met-d...

Studies on Comparative Efficacy of Herbal Amino Acid (Methiorep) Supplement with Synthetic Dl Methionine on Broiler Growth Performance and Carcass Quality Traits

An experiment was conducted on commercial Ven cob broiler chickens to investigate the effect of supplementing herbal methionine (methiorep) that replaced synthetic DL methionine (DLM) in the diets of broilers. One hundred and twenty day-old, commercial broiler chicks (Ven Cobb) were randomly divided into two experimental groups, each of which comprised four replicates. Each replicate consisted ...

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of different levels of herbal methionine in low protein diet on performance, carcass characteristics, immune response and some blood parameters in broiler chickens. In this experiment 240 day-old Ross 308 mixed broiler chicks were randomly divided into 6 groups with 4 replicates and 10 birds each in a completely randomized design. Treatments inclu...

Bio-efficacy comparison of herbal-methionine and DL-methionine based on performance and blood parameters of broiler chickens

This study was conducted to compare the bio-efficacy of herbal methionine (H-Met) relative to DL-methionine (DL-Met) on 160 “Ross 308” broiler chickens. DL-Met and H-Met were added to the basal diet in eight experimental treatments with three and four concentrations respectively in starter, grower and finisher period. Blood parameters which were measured at 24 and 42 days of age consisted of: s...

Performance Hematology and Correlation between Economical Traits under the Effects of Dietary Lysine and Methionine in Broilers

Lysine (Lys) and Methionine (Met) as two primary essential amino acids and precursors of carnitine biosynthesis are involved in most of economical traits function in domestic animals. We assessed the impact of dietary Lys and Met on the performance, lipid redistribution, intramuscular fat, carcass quality and especially phenotypic correlations among some studied parameters in broiler chickens. ...
